Seeking Three Community Regional Leads
The Community Lead(s) will be responsible for cultivating and strengthening our community in/from the region, by connecting individuals, understanding individual needs and helping connect them to resources. Through community building and management, you will elevate and support young and new voices in digital rights from the region, paying particular attention to both individuals from marginalized and underrepresented communities, and technologists hoping to grow their own solutions.
Community Lead(s) will also be responsible for sharing the community research and information they uncover during their month process of community building via a monthly regional brief. This brief will have regional community news, regional updates, funding and job opportunities, and more.
We are looking for folks who are in the early stages of their careers (2-3 years of experience), are passionate about community management, digital rights, internet freedom, and equity, and have strong writing skills. It is anticipated that these roles will start in October 2023.
Position: Regional Community Lead
Job level: Entry-level
Contract: 12 month consultancy, 20 hours per week
Compensation: 2,200 USD per month
Location: Remote
We are looking for 3 regional leads
Asia Regional Lead: Fluent in English. Fluency in any other languages spoken in Asia are a plus, based anywhere within UTC+5 through UTC+9
Eurasia Regional Lead: Fluent in English, but fluency in any other language spoken in Central Europe, Eastern Europe and/or Central Asia is a plus, based anywhere within UTC+1 to UTC+9
MENA Regional Lead: Fluent in English. Fluency in any other languages spoken in the region are a plus, based anywhere within UTC+0 through UTC+4

Key Responsibilities
Moderate regional monthly meetups
Write monthly regional briefs to highlight digital rights updates and initiatives
Build and cultivate engagement in diverse virtual community spaces, ensuring that members feel safe and supported.
Outreach to communities and groups from the region who should be part of important conversations centered on advancing digital rights
Build and cultivate engagement in diverse virtual community spaces, ensuring that members feel safe and supported
Help answer questions or provide regional expertise to digital rights and security tech projects hoping to improve their offerings in a particular area/country in the region
Help co-host Team CommUNITY online events
Contribute to other Team CommUNITY initiatives as needed
Who we are looking for
Passionate about TCUs mission and impact, and interest in working within the digital rights, internet freedom, or human rights field
Passionate about bringing people together, and advancing important conversations in the region at the intersection of tech and human rights
Can facilitate virtual events, and understand how to use virtual tools
Good skills cultivating communities online, through tools such as mailing lists, online chat rooms, and others.
Strong writing skills: previous experience in journalism or other short-form writing to mixed audiences
Ability to work with timeliness, efficiency, flexibility, and good humor
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people from diverse backgrounds
