2024 Global Gathering Report: Advancing Digital Rights Resilience through Community Building and Solidarity
The 2024 Global Gathering (GG) report brought together over 1,000 digital rights defenders for three days of networking, collaboration, and discussions on digital rights and Internet Freedom issues impacting civil society and the media. This includes disinformation, online harassment, freedom of expression, press freedom, circumvention technologies, and encrypted communication technologies, and future of AI, among others.

Psychosocial Circles Now Open!
The Spring enrollment of three psychosocial “circles” is open! It is a series of weekly virtual private gatherings, led by mental health professionals, that provide digital rights defenders with the opportunity to process experiences and emotions, while learning adaptive coping mechanisms, and connecting with others facing similar challenges.

We titled this blog post with a question, “Is the IFF going to happen” because this is the question we have repeatedly been asked since Covid-19 began. This is because the Internet Freedom Festival is less of an event and more where people go to connect, build solidarity, and recharge their morale by being around folks that reflect their values, interests, and commitment.
